Question on amniotic fluid

posted 11th Aug
so where i live we dont have an ultra sound tec anymore. so there not doing them, they tell you if you want one you half to drive to edmonton. which is 3 hr drive can be longer. when i went to vancover for my grandmas death i had to fight to get an ultra sound there. thankfully i got one and they noticed the amniotic fluid was very low and recomended that i have an ultra sound every 2 weeks, when i came home and talked to my doctor and gave him the letter they gave me to give to him he said book one at 36 weeks but dont worrie about it , at the time i was 23, well now im trying to book one and there full till after my due date im still trying diffrent places and have been for weeks now but no luck. so what i would like to know is what can extreamly low amniotic fluid due to a baby cause im very worried.

stress the baby out... which makes you go into labor... make sure you have lots of rest and drink lots of clear fluids....

Did you try booking an ultrasound at a hosital as an outpatient? The clinic I go to booked mine last wednesday for this morning at the grey nuns, and mine was just to check on baby's weight. They have to do a NST at the same time if you go to the hospital, and I ended up being there for three hours all together. But it is an option, just wondering if you considered it.

thing is i half to travel 3 hrs for one and if theres no app theres no reason travelling.. even if i go in to the er they wont due an ultra sound, i was in there last week for the worst bk pain i've ever had and they said book a ultra sound in edmonton even though i've been trying...

my doctor and i where talking about a c-section for a diffrent reason ( cause i wanted one) then i told him i would due it natural and now hes saying i might not have a choice. my app on the 5th of aug he said she didnt seem to be in the birth position yet but thats by feeling my tummy and stuff. he said if i cant get one by 38 weeks he would due a c-section just to be safer then sorry, because we where talkin about the whole inducing thing to but hes not sure if she will move or not and with out an ultra sound you can never be that sure.

I understand the travel issue, but you can book an appointment for an ultrasound at the hospital. The only problem is when you go in you get last priority. Emergency patients get first go. (I had to wait for half an hour because they were checking out some guy's knee) The only thing is it has to be booked by your physicians office, you can't book it for yourself. Here's a link to where I found the information.
