honestly...

posted 11th Aug
I am now 33 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me about a month ago that stress is not a factor with the health and well being of my baby. He said it is just a myth, that the baby has her own brain and she my horrible stress is not bad on her. EVERYONE else however is saying stress is EVERYTHING!!! I stress all day, everyday, because of life situations and some times I calm myself down, but there hasnt been a day that has gone by where it hasnt been there. I am so worried something will be wrong with the baby...
Would the doctors know by now if something was wrong with her...?

my amniotic fluid was low due to stress, low amniotic fluid can have effects in the baby's development and it can be a cause of early labor too or labor being induced early...

edited to say... stress might not affect the baby directly, but it affects the mother's health and that affects the baby, that's what i think

I was so scared something was wrong with my baby because i had a late loss a few months prior to getting pregnant. I was so stressed and consumed by this my doctor sent me to the periontologist for a complete check. There are all kinds of markers for abnormalities and THANK GOD nothing was found, the baby was completely perfect. Okay, that should ease my fears but I will not be ok until i hear and see the baby screaming and kicking. Stress does play such a role in pregnancy on a personal level. how can we relax and let our babies grow if we are alwys worried about something or rushing off here and there? I would just listen to your body and your baby. I can always tell if I'm doing too much, certain signs; bad back pains, cramping and headaches, o god the headaches... I just listen to what my body is tellin me, slow down, put up my feet, and relax. Do you have any similiar signs too much is going on and know you need to let up a bit? If so just follow them and you should be fine. So many tests can predict our baby's health and you are far enough along to where you can feel confident all is well.
