i need advice (and courage)

so i live with my mom (me and my four year old) and i'm due with my second in december. my mom's lease is up in october and she wants me to get an apartment for ALL OF US. ??????? i am totally against this for two reasons. one i HATE my stepfather, who by the way has HIS OWN APARTMENT but is in and out of ours all the time?????? (i don't question it, it's none of my business) and second i'm 22 with one kid and one on the way and i don't need to be living with my mom. i'm working now and i'm capable of handling rent and bills without my mom's help but i scared to tell her that cause i don't want her to take it the wrong way. this is a really frustrating situation for me and i'm ready to just tell her but don't know how or when. please help!!!!

Just tell her you feel it's time that you and the kids have your own place. Plus if your stepdad has an apartment she could just move in there!

Just let her know that you don't want to burden her with your two children. If you use those terms she might take it a little less personal. Why doesn't she just live with her husband?

about the stepdad situation, i'm not sure. i try not to go there with her cause it's really none of my business. and telling her i don't want to be a burden is only going to make it worse. if it were up to her, i'd live with her forever. i'm just going to tell her that my kids and i need our own space cause we do. but i also would like to make it clear that i don't want to be around my stepdad...that's where the problem comes in

im kind of in the same situation. Except my mom and my sister live in the same house with me. It is so hard to live with someone else even though it is your mom. You are all grown up and have your own family. I know it is hard to tell a member of your family something like that! I want to tell my sister and mom that I dont want them to live with me anymore but I dont want to hurt them. Anyways just tell her you have your own family now and you need to be out on your own, it is for the best. That you dont want to feel like you are living at home forever. Good luck to ya!

That's perfect!!!! you know what?my baby's father told me to tell her that a few months ago but he gets on my nerves so much i blank out everything he says...lol! but again thank you and this is what i'll tell her. mwah!!!

Does your mom have anywhere to go ?

Because if she needs the help , You should help her . Shes obviously been helping you .

yes. her husband has his own apartment!!!!!! she can golive with him or renew her lease. she's been able to pay her own rent and bills and there's no difference now. i just started working so i haven't really had any money to give her so it's not like she's depending on me for financial help. and besides i have to worry about me and my kids and it's not my responsibility to take care of a grown woman who has a husband who doesnt' do shit! sorry to go off like that but it's the truth. i would never neglect my mother if she REALLY needed me but she doesn't

i'm about to logout but again i did not mean to go off like that. it's just a really frustrating situation and i really don't have time to get into all of it right now. thanks for all of you all's advice
