40 weeks baby moving less
posted 11th Aug
I am 40 weeks and 2 days!! I feel like she is moving so much less than normal! My doc said she still needs to move 10 times in an hour but she just seems so much less active! Has this happened to anyone else whe u are this far along? Has anyone else been told it is normal for them to move less?

my dr said they move less because they are running out of room and he said as long as he moves 10 times in 2 hours its fine.

As my li'l guy got bigger, adn I got closer to my duedate, he was running out of space and wasn't moving as much. My doctor said that was normal. As long as the li'l one is still moving occassionaly, you're golden, hun!

It's normal. And my dr. told me in his most active hour, he should move 6 times. I wasnt ever told 10 times every hour.. Thats kindof excessive.. I mean my lil man moves a lot but he doesnt move THAT much..

babies get too cramped to move around like they used too,

NORMAL!
Less movement is good. It is a sign the he/she is growing and runnig out of room. Good news, okay?

There is no room in there!! As long as you get your kick counts in, its totally normal! Labor dust to you!

I went to the L&D a couple of days ago for the same reason, I thought my little guy was moving a lot less than usual, but they said everything was fine, and well the bigger they get the less they'll move around, as long as they're moving though you should be ok, but if you really don't think the baby is moving enough it never hurts to go in, my little guy hardly moves in the day but full throttle around 4:00 a/m for an hour or two, other than that he's a day sleeper haha

the only problem is when they stop moving all together.
Babies are people to and they have their days when they dont do much, then days when they have lots of energy, even in the womb!

I'm 40 weeks and 3 days now and the same thing happened to me... I just had my last appointment today and I got hooked up to a fetal monitor and stress test machine to check the baby's heartrate, movement, and my contractions. I couldn't feel the baby moving but according to the machine, she was moving around and all that jazz. So, the baby is just running out of room and as long as you occasionally feel it move, then you should be fine. good luck

At your gestation it would be very rare for the baby to pass away. Confidence and happiness is the key to a healthy heart. Just relax and let the worries go away. There is no way to tell what is going to happen until the baby is out so it's best not to make yourself sick worrying (even though we all did it, lol). The calmer you are, the better your labor will go. Blood pressure and muscle tension has a huge impact on the progression and succession of labor :-)
