Anyone Exclusively Pumping?

posted 11th Aug
Hey all, I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that is pumping breastmilk exclusively that would like to become buddies. I was unable to get my little one to latch, but got great results from pumping, so I decided to just pump and bottle feed. Just looking for buddies to share with... K.

I'd pump and store in between feedings. With my third pregnancy, usually they'll latch on great, I broke both of my wrists in a car accident, while I was 9 months pregnant. It put me into labor. So my husband had to take off and hold the pumps for me.

u can cause trauma to the breasts. it is a mechanical device, much different than a baby's mouth. This is what my LC told me, I do not know from experience.

i was told 30 minutes and that is about as long as it takes for your breast to completely empty

u can hand express for as long as you want, and it stimulates u more, but it is tedious.

i'm not anymore, but I did this with my twins for the first 4 1/2 months. They were preemies, and after numerous unsuccessful visits to the lactation specialist, it's just what worked best for us.

I would've loved to do it longer, but I got mastitis twice and it got to be too much with pumping 30-45 minutes 6 times a day and trying to keep two babies occupied.

I had to pump at least 30 minutes to relieve the swelling. Maybe I should not have done it that long?
