September fetal weight

Ok so last week when i was at the doc i asked if they would give me a guess on how big the baby was well she married and felt and said that the baby only felt like it was maybe 2 1/2 to 3 pounds she didnt seem too concerned but went ahead and put me on weekly visits i guess to keep a better track of the babys weight but is anyone else measuring for a sort of small baby?

Last time they did an estimate of my babies weight when I was 30 weeks and im now 35 she was like 3lbs 9oz.....

How far along were you at that point? A 'feel' of your stomach doesn't really give a good estimate of weight...are they doing to do an ultrasound?

33 weeks and all my aunts and stuff were like thats small so i looked up charts online and compared to the charts it was small

i'm due in sep. too and they said the baby was a lil small but nothing to worry about but they also told me that he around 18"inch already and thats tall or long for his due date(i'm 33 weeks and 1 day)

Yes it is small, but like I said, your doc could be off. If an ultrasound can be up to a pound off, your doctor's hands surely carry an equal to or greater error margin. I wouldn't stress until you have your next weight check. Will they do an ultrasound to check or another manual check?

Im not sure i will know more on wednesday but probably manual they dont believe in ultrasounds unless they think somethings wrong my other doc had said he would do two ultrasounds but he has been out of the office just about everytime ive come in but he will definetly be there next week and i plan on asking him since he is much better about taking his time and making sure he touches base on everything before i leave no wonder women fight over the poor man ( i had to wait 4 months before i saw him the first time but that was before i was pregnant)

How do you not believe in ultrasounds? And wouldn't a small weight be something wrong?! Well good luck. I hope you get some answers.

i had an ultrasound on July 15th and they said she was measuring at 4lbs then and then Friday my doctor sent me for another growth ultrasound because i have gestational diabetes and they don't want her to be too big so i find out this coming friday the results on that ultrasound but to me and my fiance she looked like she was pretty chunky lol. it was soo cute because we got to see her practice breathing that was awesome.

i'm so glad i saw this because i just left the doctor today and he estimated that the baby is about 5 pounds and i was a little nervous since i am 35 weeks.. i'm not dilated at all and not to mention the most accurate is an ultra sound so don't be to worried now you should be going every week so every appt. make sure to ask!

Why would you be nervous about your baby being 5 pounds at 35 weeks?

because when i read in my books and on here it says he should be 6 pounds.. lol.. he said it was average i just get myself worked up over nothing sometimes..

Well on last Tuesday my bundle weighed 5lbs and 5oz by ultrasound. I think my little girl may weigh 7lbs.3 oz by time she is born. I go to the doc tommorrow I will ask if she gained any weight since then.

I will be 36 weeks tomorrow and I had a u/s last fri and my lil man weighs 5lbs,1oz/hes only measuring a week behind the dr said......I also read on here that at 36 weeks he should weigh 6 1/2 lbs but Im going by what my dr said and he said its nothing to worry about.
