This week sucks!

So, I've been suffering this week with a baby with strep throat. And we werevisiting at my moms so we weren't even homeso that we at least had the "home comfort" advantage. The weather has been sucky, and nowI get home andhave to getrid of my dog!

He hates storms. This weekend, even though we have anunderground eletric fence, and afive foot tall fence, he got out. A storm started rolling in and he freaked and cleared the 5 foot fence. Once he figured out hecould do it, hekept doing it. I can't leavehim on a chain, that's no way for him to live.The last time hejumped the fence, a neighborfound him 10 blocks away(and he crossed a highway) within minutes of him getting out. I can't risk him getting hurt because wecan't keep him in, and I can'tkeephim in the house because he is very territorial of me andmarks the door of any room I go into to. I hate to get rid of him,I'm totally heart broken, but I lovehim to much to see him get hurt if hegets out again.

Just needed to get it out. This week has totally sucked....

and a family pet is like another child so i know thats hard can you get a trainer or something??

My son is a big fan of food - so not eating solids (because he couldn't swallow them) for 5 days had him pissed right off  

We have no local trainers, and he has been through 3 different programs at the two nearest places that are 1 and 2 hours away. We are in town, and even though we have an huge lot, theres just no way of keeping him safe if we can't keep him in the yard. That's it! No more pets! We've put down 2 cats and a ferret in the last 2 years because of uncurable medical issues, and now this. It really sucks. And my husband just left to take Riley to the pound because we couldn't find any one to take him, and now our other dog is crying. I think I'm going to hide in bed.

i had togive away 2 dogs last years and they were like my kids and i love my dogs now i only have my toy poodles..

Its scary how much an animal can totally take over your heart. How small are your toy poodles? Are they yappy? My cousin is looking into getting one for an inside dog, but she lives in an apartment and isn't sure how they would be.

mines are 4 lbs i have had them since they were born... alot of my family has poodles and never complaints mines are extremely quiet only bark when the door opens then they go hide...
they are nervous dogs by nature...
i love them dearly and cant imagine getting rid of them...
