moms above 220 lbs?

posted 10th Aug
I was just wondering if there is any other moms on here that weigh above 220 lbs and are trying to lose weight?

Sometimes i feel so out of place being on the bigger side. I gained 61 lbs while i was pregnant which took me from 220 lbs to 281 lbs on the day I delivered. So far i've lost 31 lbs, which puts me at 250 lbs. I'm not satisfied, and im no where near where I want to be.

Is there anyone else suffering through this just like me? I dont think I will be happy until I reach 200 lbs. My overall goal is to get around 180 lbs.. i'm 5'4, so thats still BIG but i'd be A LOT more comfortable under 200 lbs.

This is kind of depressing, and embarrassing. So hopefully theres other moms out there who can empathize with me and we can offer support to each other.

I actually currently weigh 220.

I'm trying to get down to 150.. slowly.

I haven't done much but work out occasionally.

And it seems to be working out.

You just gotta give it time mama.

your current weight is about what mine was prepreg. I'm now (as of my last doc app.) 278.. and the doc only wants me to gain 3 pounds in the third tri

Sounds realistic, right?   did anyone else expierence something like this?

oh...

and am I the only one who hasn't ever been measured for fundal height? not that she could if she tried... Gah I hated myself for getting pregnant in such an unhealthy state, but it wasn't planned... Daniel and I got engaged, planned on getting married sometime next year, and on me losing 75 pounds so I could have a healthy pregnancy.
Then my bc pills failed.
Thanks for letting me vent a bit

I don't get measured for anything at my appointments yet. And I had the same plan as you lol. Get thinner and THEN fall pregnant. In a way I was kind of angry at the baby because I had my besties wedding coming up and I wanted to be a smaller size for that.

I can't wait for Toby to be born so I can start trying to lose weight and fully get into it. I'm about 250lbs now, but I'm also 5"11 so I don't look quite as heavy as I actually am.

Yeah, when anyone hears my real weight they really don't belive me, just because I am (well... was... now my tits and belly are HUGE) very porportional. I used to lie and say I weighed 200 and no one blinked an eyelash. Now I feel like a fucking cow.   Not such a turn on for my fiance... Poor guy. I just cannot believe that my doc expects me to only gain THREE MORE POUNDS! the baby should gain at least four more, plus the growing weight of the placenta, and amniotic fluid and blood that I am sure to keep producing... I just do not get it. I didn't argue though, I certainly don't have a medical degree....

I haven't been able to say I weigh under 100kgs (200lbs) for about 5 years now   I've looked up on the net that my 'ideal' weight is 75kgs...but if I got down to 75kgs (About 150lbs) I would be a friggen STICK! My bones would be poking out everywhere. So I'm aiming for about 95kgs (aprox. 190lbs)

I think it's stupid having doctors telling you you're only allowed to put on a certain amount of weight. That's A LOT of unnecessary stress right there. I know I'd be worrying too much about eating less and exercising more to do what's healthy for my baby. I think as long as you eat fairly healthy it shouldn't really matter how much weight you gain.

yeah, I know thats how I feel!

I would switch OB's because I really do not like this one, but I'm on the oregon health plan and the only other docs available around my due date are male, and I'd rather die than see a guy. Only male touching me down there is DANIEL, thank you very much.... In fact, having anyone touch me down there other than him was quite unnerving.. She was checking me at my first appointment just to make sure my cervix was closed properly.... and halfway through I was thinking... OH MY GOD. A woman has her fingers in my... oh my god....

lolllll

Lol!!! That happened to me about two months ago. I was bleeding and SO and I freaked so we went to the emergency ward and she was like "I'll just have to check your cervix" and I was like "Oh...okay", not knowing what she had to do. Then she asked me to take off my pants and I was like ooooooooh wow...then I heard the snap of the gloves and felt the cold lube. I felt so awkward!!! I've never had a pap smear or anything so nobody but Robert and other guys have been down there. I felt like crying afterwards.

alright well i am late in the posting, but i lost 34 pounds during my pregnancy but within a week after having her i gained almost 60 pounds, and when i went back to the doc(my body went on strike after having ailey) i still hadnt lost and i gained 3 more pounds, well i had changed my diet i workout everyday and i still gain and dont lose, she put me on diet pills, because i was 180 when i got pregnant and i am now 278, i want to be around 200 205, so you are not alone, and yes she has checked my thyroid and everythign else, but i am also on bp meds, migraine meds, heart meds, so that may have a factor in my weight not being able to lose it, because that is only part of my med list, after having ailey i know have to tak 5 pills morning and 4 pills night, but it will come off mama, just give it some time, they say 9 months to gain 9 months to lose

Let's see...pre-preggo, I had been around 225. I've been a "bigger" girl all my life. When I was in my last year of college, I actually got down to 160, and I wanted to lose about 15 more pounds to be at my ideal weight. Well, I moved to Georgia, got depressed and lonely (and had mom's cooking again), so I went back up to 220-225. During my pregnancy, I gained way too much weight...I'm talking like 75+ pounds...but I also had a lot of water retention. I literally lost 40-45 pounds within three weeks of delivering. I've now kind of leveled out at 258ish, and I just need to kick my butt into gear to get back down to 160. My goal is to be under 200 when I go to Hawaii in March.
