not exactly a ttc question, but more an AF question...

posted 10th Aug
sorry, i didn't know where to put this, but I'm ttc, so i thought i'd stick it in here...sorry if it doesn't belong.

anyway...

the past 3 times that hoe AF showed up, my feet swell. it never did that before... it doesn't hurt or anything... they just swell for the 3 days AF sticks around.

I've been drinking a lot of water... like... 15 cups a day for the past couple of weeks, and watching my sodium intake, but it still happened this month.

It's just kind of confusing...and I just thought someone might know what is causing it, and maybe what I can do to help the swelling go down a bit.

thanks!

Well if your are drinking ALOT of water, your body could be retaining too much water.....i think....

lmao at "that hoe AF"

have you tried elevating your feet/legs above your waist? my legs and feet used to get so swollen and that helped a lot. if that doesn't help, talk to your doctor & they should be able to figure something out for you

drinking lots of water is actually supposed to keep you from retaining water.

thanks girls.

i have them up, but I guess not above my waist. i'll try that. I thought about the retaining water thing too. I took some Midol, I think that's supposed to help with water retention. So maybe that will work? who knows! haha

it's just something new, so I was kinda freaking, but if it doesn't hurt or anything, I guess i'm not too concerned.

Do you put a lot of salt on your corn or potatoes? Sodium makes you retain water.. So maybe that's why?

that's so weird. i wouldn't think corn and potatoes would do that. they are both pretty starchy, maybe that does something?

Yeah, it's probably the salt then. Whenever i'd eat anything with a lot of salt, i'd always swell up. Maybe just drink lots of water while you're eating it? That should help

Try takin midol during your period....it has a diuretic in it which helps with bloating.....instead of you getting your bloating around yourbelly you get it in your feet...it's normal. It probably won't go away regardless of how much you put your feet up or your soidum intake. If you are prone to getting bloated during af then you just have to deal.....one of those lovely womanly side effects.
