GROCERY SHOPPING W/NEWBORN?
posted 10th Aug
I have a simple question for shopping with your newborn.. I know newborns are too little to sit in the basket so how do you bring your baby with you while grocery shopping? I've seen infants in a store before but I never really payed attention to how they were carried or situated. Do you bring the stroller? The car seat [I would think thats kinda bulky and complicated]? Do you bring daddy with you to hold baby? Or do you use one of those baby harness/carrier thingies?
Thankssss.

most people i see with infants have them laying in the car seat, and the car seat is in the basket thing. so i guess make sure you buy a car seat that isn't huge and bulky.
or an infant carrier...

I have a baby backpack, so I use that.
If you aren't getting a TON of stuff, you can put the carseat in the cart....
Or bring daddy along.

The people I have seen either put the baby in a car seat (and put the car seat in the cart) or use a sling/carrier. Personally, I plan to use a sling.

we bring the stroller.. we have always done shopping together.. sometimes though i just bring the carseat and you can rest it on the top part of the basket..

Usually the car seat will click into the front seat on the cart!

i used my sons infant carseat. I've seen a lot of moms wear those carriers. I always would make my husband wear it. He would complain about his back hurting and then I would say yea, i did it for 9 months. haha

We usually place the carseat in the front of the shopping cart.

i keep my son in his car seat and sit it in the top basket by the handles...it hooks right on

Just leave them in the carrier, it locks right onto the front of the grocery buggy. Up top wear they would sit. then when you are ready to load into car just pull the lock release just like you would of taking out o fthe car. hope that helps. Or the easiest way is to leave em home with daddy.

With my first son, we left him in his carseat. With my second, I wear him in the Moby Wrap (front pack thing)... he is NOT a carseat lover...

another thought... the sling/carrier I tried that once and he got so heavy carring and all the bending I had to do to get my groceries up on the check out belt was little diffucult

Usually the carseat will lock onto the front of the cart like it would in the base for it.
