I was told that at 3 weeks, it was ok to take them to the grocery store, the mall, etc. We had Kylie at Wal-Mart when she was 3 weeks old, and she was fine

I had mine out 2-3 days after birth to grocery stores, malls etc . I don't get why you wouldn't take your child out .

i had to re read this, i thought you were saying you had her at walmart! lol as in you delivered her there! lol
and i was kinda wondering that too, what was the right 'age' to have the baby out.

You can take her out I just wouldn’t let those wierdos that feel its ok to touch everyones baby close to her. My daughter got sick at an elementary basketball game and we say away from everyone but one lady came over and just started touching and then told me that her 6 month old had rsv and wasin the hospital.. about a week later my daughter was in the hospital with RSV!!! Stupid lady. . . you can keep her covered and protect her like a hawk.
And trust me there the same people that feel its ok to touch your belly fell entitled to touch your baby

We have taken Logan out tons since he was born.. Same with Mikaila, we never limited where we went, we would just keep them covered, I would recommend keeping her in her carseat with a blanket over it, or in a front pack or sling, to me at least it seems as if people leave them alone more that way. If I am just holding Logan or Mikaila for that fact people always reach out and bug them..

i took my baby shopping (ina mall, costco and walmart all in the same day) when he was 6 days old. he was totally fine.just dont let random strangers touch him to put their face to close to baby's. if your really worried, carry her in a sling or cover her carseat with a blanket so she cant get too close

I don't see anything wrong with it. At least its not as bad as an old friend of mine who took her 2week old son to the zoo in 90degree weather! Then refused to buy him sunscreen and kept the poor baby covered with a blanket, he was broke out head to toe in heat rash.
While we are on the subject, at what age would it be approiate to take the baby to soccor games? I am having a guilt trip about missing my SO's son's games, cannot wait til outdoor season is over with and indoor begins.

Well, I'm not sure of your living situation but even if you live with family, you're over 18 and have every right to take the baby wherever you want. I always had mine out a few days after they're born but I wear mine in a sling so people don't have a chance to put their germy hands on my kids.

Yeah i had all mine out within 2 or 3 days of birth. And if you take them to wal-mart it shouldnt matter if you take them to the mall. And my SIL was told like a month or 2 before you are suppost to take them out. I took mine out and they were all jsut fine. If you are worried about it keep baby covered so no one can touch. Less likely to get germs that way.

We took Caylee to walmart when she was just a week old. She was fine, just dont be afraid to tell strangers if they are getting to close....because they do! I took her to safeway the other day and there was like a crowd of people trying to get a look at her...so finally I had to nicely ask them to BACK UP!

i hate the random people touching thing! lol and my baby isnt even here yet, i just know that the moms find it uncomfortable, so i dont even ask, i just look and comment then go about my business, cause i know i would get agrivated as hell if someone just started touching all over him, and me not knowing where their hands have been!

I had a woman touch me when I was pregnant with my first . . . I gave her the weirdest look and when she stopped I rubbed her belly and asked her if she liked it and she apologized and went on her way. Im not as crazy now lol that was 5 years ago and I was a hot heated 19y/o. But I don’t let people touch and kindly ask them to stop even if they touch my daughter she asks them not to touch too

Bahahah. It's a wonder I didn't give birth to her in Wal-Mart. I was there so much during my pregnancy...lol
