Military wives/girlfriends

My boyfriend is thinking about joining the military.

I am both terrified at the thought and happy at the thought. I have a cousin serving in the airforce and he has been sent to iraq 4 times, just sent again recently.

Question, which is the best force to join and what are the pros and cons?

Is it hard for you to deal with their departure? How often do you get to talk to them? How hard was it for your children?

My husband is in the army and it was hard trying to get through the deployment, but you do get the hang of it after awhile and you will miss having your own bed when they come back haha! The hardest part for me was worrying that something was wrong. Its hard to do ANYTHING when your worried about them.
I got to talk to my husband every single day unless they were on a commo blackout (which is where someone gets hurts or dies and they are waiting to tell their family members). But I know a lot of girls dont get to talk to their husbands every day. I am not sure about the children part though, I was pregnant while he was gone. I will be finding out in October but my baby is still young so I dont think it will be too hard.

My husband is in the Air Force. He hasn't been deployed yet and hes been in for 3 years. He's air traffic control. I know that he'll get deployed soon and I'm sure it will be hard because our son will be so young.

if he's going active then air force or navy don't get deployed as much and when they do thier tours are shorter. but they're standards are higher for getting in. marines and army have longer tours. if he'll get deployed depends on the job he has. if he's a desk monkey like me its not likely he'll see iraq that much. i've been in 3 1/2 years and i've never been. i've had freinds and family go over there. my ex fiance is over there right now. u have to make time to talk to them when they can talk. for instance my ex told me he can only talk when its like 1130 at night here. me being pregnant its very hard for me to stay awake so we don't talk so much we email each other stuff like that. i had another friend that over there last year and he would text me when he was on the compter so i would get up and talk to him. its about a 9 hour time differene. butu do what u gotta do. u wouldn't be the first woman to deal with a deployment so i know u would be alright. just have faith that God will bring him home. and just be ready for the man u sent to iraq to come back adifferent person.
