False Bladder Infection

posted 8th Aug
So I went to the doc and she told me I have a bladder infection I think I was high on Nitrates.. anyway, she gave me the antibiotics. I took them for three days and they called me and told me I do not have a UTI and to stop taking the antibiotics. Anyone know why I would come up having a bladder infection in the office but the culture said I didnt? Is there something else wrong?

They actually tested your pee in the office and it said you have a bladder infection? Cause I didnt have any symptoms really

it is normal to have the white blood cells in your urine in pregnancy. My first pregnancy I had them and I was doped on antibiotics for the most part, to only find out in my second pregnancy that it was normal to have those in the urine. In my third I always had them and the doc always sent them away to be cultured but I never had a UTI..

Does it mean anything though???

not unless it comes back as a UTI/bladder infection... And even then that can be treated with anitbiotics and hardly becomes serious.

Hey I have been told several times that I do not have one and then when I come back, I actually do have one. If you are still feeling uncomfortable, have your doctor check you for Bacterial Vagonosis (spelling?) or BV for short. Twice, I thought it was a UTI and it was BV (my luck) but it has something to do with hormone levels.

Don't want to alarm you, but -- My neice went to the doctor's with pain and was told she had a UTI. She ended up miscarrying later that night.   She was 16 weeks.

HAHA weird I went to the doc today they were like well we did the test and it was negative for a UTI when all that stuff happened last week. But the antibiotics and pain stuff made it better. I asked my doc why that could have happened she said tests will come back negative somtimes. not 100% accurate or the urine could have been diluted.
