It's heard of, but I really don't think it's that common.

It probably just depends on what type of labor complication she was having. My mom almost died with my oldest brother. She had a placental abruption (i think that is what it is called) so they had to do an emergency c-section. She lost A LOT of blood. My brother was 2 months early....but they both ended up being okay....Thank God!

I don't know for sure how common it is. But I do know that with ANY surgery there is always a risk of death no matter how common the surgery. I learned that when my son had to have his appendix taken out.

Those are pretty good odds, really. Don't stress.

It's a .0004% chance of dying. Think about all the other things you do that carry much higher risks!

lol, my husband said he's going to block this site if I don't stop reading stuff like this. I'm either freaked out something is going to happen to the baby or me...

If you think about it though, there is so much risk in everything you do.

Odds of injury from fireworks: 19,556 to 1
Odds of injury from shaving: 6,585 to 1
Odds of injury from using a chain saw: 4,464 to 1
Odds of injury from mowing the lawn: 3,623 to 1
Odds of fatally slipping in bath or shower: 2,232 to 1
Odds of drowning in a bathtub: 685,000 to 1
Odds of being killed on a 5-mile bus trip: 500,000,000 to 1

If you've had a normal, uncomlicated pregnancy, you basically have zilch to worry about. Especially if you've previously delivered via c-section. I've had 2 emergency c-section and I'm still kickin' =)
