Babys Positioning

so is there anyway of knowing your babys position (breech, head down etc) without going to a prenatal visit?? My baby has been sideways (laying underneath my boobs) for weeks, and im really hoping by now he is head down! I cant tell! I dont go see my midwife til the 13 and im curious- any techniques?

im not really sure on techniques but I thought my baby was still transverse...I brought it up to the doc last monday...he felt about and by my pubic bone be put his thumb and index finger on either side like the inside of my hip bones and he goes...yup baby is head down. so I didn't even notice he had turned..kinda odd i thought...

I can tell my baby is still breech, only because the most violent kicks I feel at the bottom of my tummy...nothing anywhere else.

haha I don;t know, but I remember at my 3d u/s at 31 weeks he was still breech and went I went to my 34 week appointment my dr told me he was head down, but I thought he was still breech since I could feel this big hard thing pushing up under my ribs.. but he told me it was probably butt lol I had no idea he flipped though, so maybe your baby has too!

well i get most kicks on the sides of my stomach.. like if i lay in my bed on my left side, it feels like he kicks my left side. Meaning he would still be lying sideways- right??

I knew she was head down when i'd only feel hiccups right above my vagina! Plus i could feel her head moving when she turned it..

could be a knee, when i had my us today she was pokin her knee out the right side of my belly the whole time

Feel for the kicks and the hard spots. My baby is head down and he kicks up in my ribs. I know he's currently face up because I can feel and see knees on my belly. I hope he'll turn so I won't have back labor! Both of my girls were face down so I always had a hard lump on my belly (their butt).

I don't know of techniques but they say they move between 33 and 36 weeks... Rhyan was head up the other day at my ultra sound and now I think she is shifting sideways...

Good to know! I just hit 33 weeks yesterday..

I could tell when my baby went head down because everything I feel is at the top of my uterus by my ribs. Then when I went to my OB visit he was head down ready to come out!! I just went to the Doc again yesterday and he is still head down, YAY!

also now that i'm thinking about it. I was looking at pictures from a couple of weeks ago and a pic I took the other day...my belly is noticeably a different shape than the previous weeks...if that makes any sense...like it looks big from my ribs to my pubic bone and not just my lower belly...:S

well yeah the movements are up towards the top of my belly.. but also on the sides. I guess he could be head down! I hope so

I also fell his hands toward my sides and low. So he probably is head down for you too
