Lost mucus plug, having regular contractions and dilated

posted 8th Aug '08
Ok, I'm a little over 35 weeks, I lost my mucus plus last night, found out yesterday that I'm having regular contractions and am 1 cm dilated. What do you think the chances are of me giving birth in September?

It's difficult to say really. A woman I know has been dialated to a 2 since 32 weeks with regular contraction almost everyday and she's now 37 weeks. I think that if you take it easy you'll have a better chance of making it to September.

sounds like how I was. Ended up going into labor I think 6 days after I started losing my plug. I was also 1cm at the beginning, and 50% effaced. Head was at station 0. I ended up having him at 36w 5d.

zero. We are barely a week into August and I'm suspecting your holding a baby by the time you read this or writhing in agony. At just over 35weeks you can have the peace of mind about the maturity of your little one and even if your son or daughter makes a brief stop over in the special care nursery, outcomes are great at 35 - he/she is technically only 2 weeks early cause 37 weeks is considered term. Hope it all goes fantastic for you x x x

I've been having contractions for 3 weeks now and I'm 1cm, and still effacing as of last monday, and I've been losing my plug for a couple of weeks now, it could be a while before you go into active labour yet!

I haven't even gotten my labor bag ready... that's what I'm doing today and washing the million of baby clothes I got. And I'm suppose to have my baby shower this Sunday   And my cousin is visiting tomorrow   I hope to make it at least a little over a week, I'm not in agony and can't feel the contractions. I'm seeing my doc Monday hopefully I'm still just 1 cm. After next week I won't care. The house will be ready by then.

That's very reassuring. Are you having regular contractions? I'm having them 30secs long and 2 mins apart... but I can't feel them. I just see them in the monitor when I do those NSTs.

Mine get regular for about 12 hours then tail off every so often, but there's another woman on here who's due around the same time as me and she's been having them 2 - 3 mins apart for 2 weeks, and she's more dialated than I am.

As my mdiwife said on monday when she checked me, it could last hours, days or weeks, every woman and baby is different and she has been in the profession since '79 so she knows what shes talking about.

My contractions started at 35 weeks due to a yeast infection but I wasn't having them everyday until 36 weeks.
