Sex, Anemia and Swimming =]

posted 8th Aug
Okay First I want to thank everyone who replied to my last posting.
I was not expecting so many responses.

So now im curiouse to a couple other topic that have been floating around in my fuzzy head.

Sex: My Boyfriend...A sex fiend..Not a bad thing for he loves my new found body but I find myself hours later cramping and hurting..just very yucky..No blood or anything too drastic but still very uncomfortable and feels hard to sit up. They say sex is fine thru the whole pregnancy but Im a lil distraught and worried..During the act..Theres no pain at all. and feels like theres less pressure

Also Im D to a 2 so i was wondering if that would change anything aswell.

Okay Now Anemia : I'm very Anemic (see pro) I'm worried about a blood transfusion..How common are they exactly?

Swimming: Being dialated sound I be swimming or even in a bath?
Its just so damn hot. lol

Feedback Appreciated

About the sex...it causes the uterus to contract which is completely normal but can be painful and annoying. You can keep having sex up until the day you deliver with the docs ok.

As far as anemia Im not sure, sorry.

And swimming and baths are perfectly fine up until your water breaks that is the only time you have to worry about possibly getting an infection. Just make sure when you take a bath that the water isnt too hot because you dont want to raise your body temp. My doc actually suggested I take baths every night 2 weeks before I delivered to help me relax enough for the contractions I were having to possibly have some effect on my cervix.

the sex thing is completely normal. you're almost due, so it's just a lot more uncomfortable, since you can REALLY feel the uterus contracting.

the anemia thing, i don't know know anything about that, either. sorry

and swimming and baths: i swam when i was 4cm dilated! my doctor said it was a good thing, it was great exercise, it was relaxing...and it cooled me off!   go for it!

The sex is completely normal. The cramping afterwards is normal too.

I was also severely anemic. I took 2 iron pills a day and ate a lot of iron fortified foods. Cheerios and other cereals have a lot of iron in them. I also ate a lot of chick peas, They are loaded with iron as well. They checked my iron levels when I checked into the hospital and again after delivery and I was fine. I was worried about needing a transfusion. Eat lots of iron!!!

Swimming/bathing is fine as long as your water is still in tact. Good Luck mama!!
