induction = no show

What can my doctor do if I don't show up for my induction date ... ?
I'm due October 9th and my doctor wants to induce me on the 1rst ...
He has no medical reason for it
I'm assuming that's just how his office works
(seeing as how he tried to pressure me into a C-section because it was "easier")
I really don't want 2 be induced unless I have to be
I would rather just let it happen
so what would happen if I didn't show up for my induction date ?

Tell him you DO NOT want to be induced. I mean unless u got atleast 1 or 2 weeks PAST your due date. But, before ur due date?? NAH...let the baby come out when he/she wants to.....

Just talk to him & tell him you'd prefer to wait it out.

That's weird. What's with people and induction now a days?? I have seen 2 ppl due the same day as me or a few days after electively choose to induce themselves this week and I don't get it. It's one thing if you're over-due, but if you're not even due yet I don't get why people can't just let their baby come naturally?? It will come when it's ready and healthy for it to come, and otherwise you deal with it then. I think its selfish in my opinion and I totally agree w/ you. What did your doc say when you said you didn't want to??

have you told him how much you are against it? If you have told him how opposed to it you are and he still has no reason, maybe consider getting a second opinion or a new doc. i switched doctors in my third trimester because my doctor didn't have time for me or listen to any of my concerns. If he has a good reason, then that's one thing, but if he's just doing it because of convenience, i say put your foot down or find a new doctor.

that's rediculous. He shouldn't be pressuring you into something you don't want.

OMG I'd find another doctor immediately! WTF??? Can't you sew them for that??
I mean if there is no medical reason why you need to be induced then they can not force you to do that!

I honestly don't want him delivering my baby
I wish I could switch but it was hard enough to get him as a doctor
(I started going to him at 21 weeks) and I tried to go to 3 other doctors before him and finally I gave up when he his office accepted me but now I wish I would have searched a little harder

but what could honestly happen if I just didn't show up on that date ?

  So sorry...I'd switch pronto. Maybe look into birthing centers if all the doctors offices wont take you? Usually midwives have the time and you in their best interest.

that's a tough spot to be in. i'm sorry that you're stuck with this guy. as for not showing up on your induction date, i don't really know what would happen. he sounds like a bad doctor who is more interested in what is convenient for him than what is best for you and the baby. i don't really blame you for not wanting him to deliver your baby. maybe keep checking around to see if you can get an apt with someone else, but stick with him until you find someone, or as a last resort in case you can't find another doc. good luck and i'll just keep my fingers crossed that you go naturally before he gets the chance to induce!

I dont know honestly but what can they do honestly? It doesn't even seem legal that they can force you to induce yourself! If there is no medical reason then why would they try and force you? That's ridiculous.

well i've only got 9 weeks left so I doubt I'd find someone but i know i don't plan on letting him induce me unless its medically necessary

Yeah don't let em. Honestly fuck that. Please excuse my language but it's just ridiculous and theres no way they can FORCE you to do that.
