I would like to see a picture of the cloth diapers used today.. i know what the older ones look like... do you still use pins?

You can or you can use snappis they are like T shaped plastic clips

i was juts talkign about this today. i dont know if g-diapers are considered cloth diapers, but i said if i could go back i would prolly use those or another alternative. but inever thought about it when i was pregnant. now i feel like the cost effectivness of it is far past me, so it would be useless to start now. opinions on this?

are they harder to deal with when you're away from home, like shopping or at a restaurant?

are they really hard to clean..if you use those "dry wipe" inserts are they still environmentally friendly??whats the best brand?

Not at all. I have a wet bag where I put the dirty diapers in, and I just put them in the diaper pail when I get home.

ZERO pins.
I use snaps and velcro.
I use the fidded diaper system myself.
The cloth diaper is already in the diaper shape and it snaps on the baby then I put a cover ( another thinner waterproof diaper) over my clothie and she is ready to go.
