yeah I mess with them all the time trying to get them on right. Maybe it's just Lydia's build?

Disposable wipes are even more disgusting than disposable diapers. No joke. When I had to use one for the first time after making the switch I was gagging.

Actual points though: If you are going to CD you might as well CW (cloth wipe lol). Think about what you do with the disposable wipe, you roll it up in the sposie and throw it away. What are you going to do with it when you are using cloth?

IMO then you have diaper laundry AND diaper trash. Why not limit yourself to one or the other?

Plus disposable wipes leave soap on their bums which makes them more rash prone. CW are better all around IMO.

overnight I put my kids in hemp fitteds by cricket and an aristocrat wool soaker. Does the trick every time.

thanks!
i super agree. i asked him what he planned on doing with the disposable wipe after using it. he just looked at me with this blank look. he's a SAHD btw. i've hated disposable wipes since before i even thought about cd'ing. i don't think he'll mind cloth wipes if he actually tries them out.

so now i should buy some wipes too. crap. and i'll need to look back through this thread for that "formula" for butt spray i saw

i use about 1/2 and 1/2 extra virgin olive oil and water with a couple drops of lavender essential oil. put it in a spray bottle. cheap and easy and it makes a bit of a barrier on her bum after. which doesn't hurt the dipes : D

i agree. We have some for when she poops on the potty or for cleaning up arts and crafts messes. DH likes to use them all the time with every change. I told him "stop that. You're making mroe work for yourself cause you'll have to take the trash out in five minutes when it smells like shit"

I just use newborn washcloths for wipes. They work great for us, but some people aren't crazy about them.

We also just use tap water at home, and I have a thing of premade butt spray for on the go.

My friend told me the other day that when she was first researching CDs she saw that you aren't supposed to use lavender oil on boys because it can permanently reduce sperm count.

I've never heard this before, and can't find any solid info on it, but this is a person that I very much trust not to give me erroneous information. Thoughts?

My SO was really freaked out with the idea of cloth wipes too. I just stopped buying disposable wipes and that basically forced him to use the cloths. I did the same thing with the cloth diapers too

We still keep them in the diaper bag for messy hands out and about, but we never use them at home and we never use them on the bum.
