leaky boobies that are swollen and sore!!

posted 7th Aug
is there anything i can do? i'm 27 weeks, and for about the past week, everytime i'm hugged if there is a lot of pressure, or if i cough sometimes even.. they leak.. they hurt so bad because they are soo darn swollen, i just wondered if anyone knew of anything i could do that helps with the pain. i know it's normal, but it's also really uncofortable, my poor husband.. doesn't have any idea what's going on.. he'll try to be all romantic, and he goes to even look at them and i'm swatting him away like a fly! HELP!!

Other than wearing a padded bra or getting pads, there is nothing else you can do~ mine started leaking @ 20 weeks & it only gets worse, but there is nothing you can do to prevent it

see, i wasn't sure.. if heat or ice would help.. i just know it's absolutely ridiculous. and the doctor doesn't really say much about it.. because last time i went in, it wasn't really a problem.. thanks though, i'll try the ice pack, and before the hubby gets home so he doesn't think i'm going crazy! lol.

after i had my son my breasts were so engorged and painfull i had to put an electric heat pad on them to help. also letting the very warm water run over them in the shower helped. but the heat made them leak more. dont think there is anything you can do about that.

Im not sure what you can do about the pain, its just there until the baby comes and can give you some relief. as for the leaking get LILY PADS, they are made espeacilly for leaking and breast feeding, they are awesome, you can get them at Mother Hood Maternity and if they dont ahve one where you are look on line! there great!

I was always told after the birht if you're engorged~ cold cabbage leaves help~ but I really wasn't in that much pain~ I said ice because that's what you use when you have any injury that has swelling, I personally never tried it

i'm going to give both the heat and ice a try.. and we'll see! hopefully it doesn't cause me to leak more.. my hubby the other day, we were in safeway, and i sneezed.. and my boob leaked through my freaking molded bra.. and my hubby was like, kirt.. what's on your shirt.. oh my gosh.. did you just leak out of your boobie.. and he said it in front of a bunch of people.. so then people were looking. he's not very discreet.. i wanted to just smack him! but, i've learned to just accept him for being the dumbass he is sometimes. lol. he's been such a help with everything else, but this is one thing, he wont touch base with me one.. he's not very understanding.. he wants to squeeze them to see if they'll leak.. it's humorous to him.. it's painful to me!!

You can buy round gel ice packs, I'd go with cold before I'd do hot because that'll probably make the leaking worse, maybe the cold will freeze the colostrom and stop it? I leaked and just wore Lansino nursing pads til he was born, they never hurt that bad but I think that just means you are gonna be awesome at producing which is good if you plan on breastfeeding.

Odd. I'm so glad my milk didn't come in til' after Skylar was born. I never had any leaking or soreness or anything til 24hr after labor.

Some people don't, its not milk though its just colostrum I had it from like 22 weeks on til the end and I was a crazy milk machine so I have a feeling Kirt is gonna be like me if they are hurting. I could make 12 ozs every 2 hours.

yeah, that's what my mom said.. and she breastfed two of my sisters and my brother.. and she said she had no problems breastfeeding, and she had the same situations going on with the leaking and the soreness. and i am indeed planning on breastfeeding!! and hopefully these inconveniences now will be worth it in the long run as far as not having to many complications when i start to breastfeed. speaking of which, i bought a breast pump.. is that actually a need.. my hubby wants me to stay home for now with the baby until she's about six months old, and then go back to work. i mean, i know the purchase will be worth it once i go back to work, but as of now, is it something i need to worry about??
