Blood Pressure
posted 7th Aug
Okay, my anxiety is kicking in again...I have never had bp problems, but the last 2 times I went to the doctor my bp was 140/80, which is high for me.
I am scared to death that I am going to develop preeclampsia. Has anybody else had their bp go up, and everything was okay????
I am 35 w and 1 d so I still have a few weeks to go and I just need some re-assuring..

my mom went through that everytime she would get to the doctor it would go sky high... so they finally let her take a bp machine home to check it a few times a day and it was always fine then maybe suggest that

Thank you all! I just worry about everything..but other than my bp I have no other symptoms of preeclampsia so hopefully everything is okay. Just pray for us!! I am so ready for him to be here!

The more important number to watch is the bottome number and 80 is still good. Even low risk women have BP problems sometimes. Try to relax and just make all of your appointments as they'll monitor you closely. As you know, anxiety only makes things worse.

I had pre-eclampsia my BP would higher than 160/90, I had to be induced and durin gmy labor it would rise. As long as you have no other symptoms I wouldn't worry, just drink lots of water and keep the sodium to minimum.

Yes, I know that worrying only makes it worse, but it is almost impossible not to worry.
Thank you everyone!!

Yup. We all find something to worry about. After they are born, it will be an entirely new set of worries :-)
