i don't think it's depressing at all. i am naming my daughter aubrey jayce, after my brother, jason. he was murdered a little over a year ago. it makes me happy to think that he is apart of her, and i think when she grows up she will be happy to have her uncle's name.

its not depressing at all..
Alana's middle name is Grace after my great gran who died when i was 12
and my nephew Dylan's middle name is Joseph after my grand daddy who died just before my sister found out she was pregnant.
i think it not only remindsyou of a much loved and missed person but it's also a sign of total respect for that person.

My daughter Jalah is named after my husbands neice Jolah who passed away. She was only 2. In the Jewish faith you name something similiar but not exact. Hence changing the O to an A. The whole family loves that we did that. It's beautiful to keep her in memory. My opinion of course.

my baby will be Trinty Joyce - joyce after my mom who passed
if its a boy it will be Dana Andrew- dana after DH and andrew after my DH father who is dying
i think its great to name a baby after family for that name will never be forgotten

My son's middle name is going to be Preston, after my grandfather who I never met. If I go on to have another boy, his middle name will be Parker, because it's my dad's. I think it's more honoring someone you love than "depressing".

I think it's nice. My 4th child's middle name is the same as my niece who was killed in a car wreck the month before she was born.
