manual ones are less expensive and far more comfortable then electronic ones.

well... i dealt with breast pumps for 4 months. i had an electric one and a manual one.... i personally liked the manual one....although it took longer and my hand hurt (lol) it wasn't as painful as the electric one... but the plus side to electrics: takes half the time to empty both breasts as it does for the manual to empty one. also you don't have tired hands. i used them both the same amount. i liked them both... one was quick and one was painless... dontcha wish there was one that was quick AND painless?

also, be sure to get a hospital grade pump... the ones at walmart and other stores aren't always the best choice. you can get one at your local wic office or a hospital can rent them to you
