Overfeeding?
posted 6th Aug
My little girl was 6wks old yesterday, since she was about 2wks old she started having little gas pains once in a while, but nothing major...today, she seemed like she was hungry more than normal, sometimes not even going 2hrs and then she wanted to eat again..i understand that around this age it is possible for her to be going through a growth spurt, but i think i overfeed her today and thought she was hungry when she really had gas...like tonight around 7:00 she was crying soooo hard for like 20mins, nothing would make her stop..i knew she had gas cause she was farting and you could just see she was in so much pain it mad me feel like a horrible mother, cause it was my fault..but i didn't know i was doing that to her......please ladies i would like some help, or any advice u can give me! how can i tell if it's gas or if she's really hungry!?!?
....sorry sooo long! i tend to ramble on..lol

Don't feel bad, we've all done it... just remember that it gets easier with time. And, there were times when I thought Miley had gas, and she was actually hungry... You might think she doesn't need to eat, but she really does... They eat a LOT during growth spurts... you'll be wondering where she's putting it all... lol

To determine if it's hunger or gas I use a pacifier. If she attacks the paci with her mouth and starts swallowing and ends up dropping out of her mouth with a ticked off look then she is hungry. I'm going through the exact same thing b/c my daughter will be turning 6 weeks on Thursday! Fun stuff hehe.
