ovulating?

posted 6th Aug
I have 31( I think or 32) day cycles. I got my 2nd to last period on June 9th. I had some cramps on June 28th I got my period on July 9th. I also had cramps again on July 28th. Both times were 20 days from the start of my period. Could that be me ovulating? I am due to get my period on the 8th or 9th of this month.

I want babies dammit. Also, if that is me ovulating should I BD a few days before, during and a day oafter, right?

Y ou could most definitely ovulate around day 20,
You should try charting! It won't tell you in advance when you're going to ovulate but it will help you see patterns in your cycle.

haha duh, I think I misunderstood. You are only charting when you have cramps but not actually charting your temps, right?

Wow, really!? You need a basal body thermometer (you can get one at wal mart for under 10 bucks) Take your temp (either vaginally or orally) at the same time every day, before you do anything (don't go pee don't take a drink of water) It's best to keep your thermometer by your bed so you just roll over take your temp, write it down (I text my temp to myself lol) and go back to sleep if you'd like. Super easy, Your temps before ovulation or lower, once you ovulate you should notice them getting higher. If you are pregnant they will usually stay up, if not they will probably drop right before af comes. At least mine do.

I agree!! You have to try charting your temp!! It took me 2 months to figure out when I ovulate by the spike in my temperature (Day 20 or 21) and month 4 we tried one time and BAM I was pregnant!   I got lucky and wish it would be that easy for everyone! (I have PCOS too and was on metformin to help regulate my cycles.) Join fertiliyfriend.com for the free month and they send you like 20 lessons (1 a day) to your email so you know what to do. I can send you my charts too if you need an example.   Good luck!!

Temping can get annoying though, and confusing if you miss or sleep in etc. Also, if you're woken by a crying child, or the mail man or the phone ringing, you totally miss your chance and might miss O. You have to temp at the same time, after roughly the same amount of sleep, before you move or even speak. Testin even one hour different can make your whole chart totally inaccurate. Its abit pressurised and can make TTC very consuming. Personally i think BBT is only good for irregular cycles or when you suspect a problem. Professionals also advise against it for the same reasons. You want TTC to be as enjoyable and quick as possible!

If you have regular cycles then the easiest thing is to take ovulation tests (OPKs). You can get 20 on the internet for $5. With your cycles that would last about 3 months  . You just pee on the stick, and when it turns positive you know you are fertile for 3 days. Simple and accurate   (if you have reg cycles). If your cycles are 30-32 days then you would start testing on day 15, and probably get a positive within a few days. I highly recommend it.

Actually about temping, you don't use it to tell when you are going to ovulate, to do that you need to check cervical mucus and cervical position...temping can show you patterns in your cycle. The only way to tell when you are going to O by using temps is if you have a pre ovulatory dip and not all women have those.

OPKs work for some but not everyone, the same could be said for most methods though lol. The best way to tell at least for me is just pay attention to your body. Temping only confirms ovulation has happened.

Either way I wish you luck
