Lyme Disease, someone help!

Good evening everyone. Im 20 weeks prego, woke up this morning wit a fever and I've been feeling sluggish all day. Just now I pulled off a huge tick on the back of my leg. My leg was bleedin alot at the spot where hewas biting, and i pulled him off. He was all intact. and hubby killed him. Now I have a raised red mark on my leg, and Im worried. Anyone have any input? Thank you

Call your doctor.

I would go to the Dr asap and get it checked out for sure! Yuck! Hope you feel better soon!

go to the doctor my mom had it they gave her a dose of antibiotics. (oh and the bump should be there still in 2 to three weeks. and sometimes you don't even get the bump and you can have it.) my doctor said they are safe to take while preggo so i'd go get checked.

I believe at the site of the bite if a red bulleye appears it could be lyme disease.. but yea call your dr either way to be safe..

I would say call your doctor. I have always heard that the tell tale sign is a bull's eye spot of red rings around where the tick was???

If he drew blood he already broke pretty deep in the skin. Call your doctor.

Usually, a bullseye rash would appear indicating it IS lyme disease.

There are other problems you can get from a tick bite, though. My brother had one burried into his neck and is now on a battery of antibiotics to make sure he's okay yadda yadda.


Call your doctor or go to the ER. (He may send you to the ER anyway)

Did you save the tick? They can test it for Lymes.

Hey. my dad has lyme and the ticks that usually carry the disease are dear ticks and they are super tiny, like u can barely see them . but I'd still get it checked out.

My father is a derm dr and a Lymes expert. At this point, being put on ABX should head of Lymes...its when you wait a few months that Lymes begins to manifest and start damage that cannot be undone.

Call your physician and let him/her know...I personally wouldnt wait for the "bulls eye" red mark being pregnant, I would get the ABX right away. Good luck! (And also, never "pull off" a tick...it can actually cause it to either spit out some of what it had swallowed or, leave a small piece inside of you which can cause a major infection.)
