How many of you mothers allow your babies to sleep with a pacifier??!

I let my son sleep with a pacifier from the beginning because I read that it helps reduce the risk of SIDS, and now he's sort of attached. But I don't mind.

I do, it helps reduce the risk of SIDS.

I always let mine esp since the first time he discovered his thumb sucking abilities. I sucked my thumb and that was the hardest habit in the world for me to quit. But there was some study somewhere that said the pacifiers reduced the risk of SIDS so that was a plus for me too.

i let my girl fall aslepp with one if she was too fussy and done nursing for the time being. i used to take it from her when she fell asleep though. I just have this thing where I did not want her becoming dependent on them. It bothers me seeing older kids with them still in their mouth. I know they say it is supposed to reduce the risk of SIDS. I just really have no other reason why I took it from her.

i did with Alana for the first year and on her 1st borthday i took it away and she never had it again.... i hate it when your walking down the street and there is a 4 year old sucking on a dummy it looks awful   JMO

Yeah, I definitely agree.

I let my 13 month old use them still and have no problems with it. She loves using it for naps, sleeping, and car rides. She still uses them during the day a lot though, which I had almost gotten her to stop doing completely, but ah well. She cries for it now so... yeah.

Lilah is very attached to hers. I probably wont take it away until she is two-- that is my absolute deadline. She is already off the bottle and has been for two months now
