how far along excatally??

How far along do you have to be before your doctor can tell you what gender your baby is? i read in a book 16 weeks.. but my doctor told me 20 weeks..

i want to know now =] lol

i found out at 19 weeks   It all depends on your dr, if she said 20 then she will look at 20

18 weeks. But 20 weeks is when things are developed for sure.

I found out at 21 weeks

I think they can tell at 19-20 weeks, wich i can not wait for!!

20+ weeks is probably best that way they don't tell you the wrong sex

I found out at 14 weeks but to be sure they say 20!

most doctors aren't comfortable until at least 20 weeks because they want to be sure, i think supposedly you can tell by 16-18 but most doctors will wait

I had an ultrasound at 16 wks and they knew it was a boy but wanted to "make sure" so I had another at 20 weeks once the baby was more developed.

I think the reason they do them around the 20 week mark is to not only check the sex but the babies organs (heart, lung, etc) production as well.

My doctor said 19 1/2 to 20 weeks

From all the books and websites the earliest I heard of was 14 weeks....I had mine done at 20 weeks exactly....I do have a friend that said with her 1st the tech found out at 11 weeks (she had a boy and the tech was right) although I wasn't sure about all that...11 weeks seems kind of early

I was 20 weeks when we found out...the doctor made us wait till then

By 16 weeks the babies goods are usually visable. They wait until 20 weeks to make sure.
