re: funny/shocking/frustrating pregnancy stories

posted 13th Dec
A couple of weeks ago I was in St. Maarten with my mom and my aunt... I was then just 6 weeks pregnant. Before I continue with this anekdote I need to tell you something about myself.... I love to eat.... I love love love it! Until the nausea set in, and of course, being strange as I am (or original as my doctor called it)I am not prone to morning sickness but rather to "evening sickness" ... which means that misery starts around 4 PM. That also means that I haven't been able to enjoy a nice diner for a while now... So anyway... to continue the story... I was in St Maarten where I saw a nice little lunch place which served sushi... and if there is something I absolutely get off on (food wise, not in a scary sexual way) its sushi... I decided to order a combi platter and ate the whole thing....mmmm.... It was so good... I could have cried.... Oh wait a minute.... I ACTUALLY CRIED!!! over Sushi... My mom and aunt are still lauging at me ...

I had a little bit of a frustrating story. At least for me.
I went to my first dr.'s appt. when I was 12 weeks. I walk into the dr.'s office and he said "so, what are you here for today"? I wanted to say, are you kidding me???
It may not sound so bad, but I was nervous about going in the first place becaues my husband is stationed in Germany and we went to go see a German dr. And I was going to be mad if they were just going to meet and greet me when I was 12 weeks.

With my first child when I was at the very end, of course I could not see the bottom of my stomach and I was rubbing lotion in. I felt a big knot. I though "OMG" i have a cyst that I will have to have lanced. The I began to realize that it was not tender. So I felt around some more and realized that I had one on the other side also. I finally got a mirrow and was able to see what my knot was. I was just very large stretch marks, about an inch and a half wide that was bulging down with the weight of my growing son. I felt so silly. I should have known, I only had stretch marks over every inch of my stomach.

I was about 8 months pregnant with my daughter - coming out of a local store. I was wearing one of my cute little black dresses that were perfect for summer weather - and all of a sudden... I am walking down the street - I hear this hoot and hollar and a honk at me - here from the back of me you cannot tell that i am pregnant - and when I turned to see where all the noise was coming from - there were three men trying to get my attention from this vechicle - as soon as I turned to my side profile - well you can guess what was there reaction and it was obvious... It was so funny I just had to tell everyone at home - It made me feel attractive - until I turned to myside in the mirror ....

Smiles!

I went to the gym the other day and walked ont the treadmill while my 16 yr old sister ran, we then did the bike thingy and I even put on my two piece bathing suit and got in the pool but you should have seen the life guard looking at me, he was cute, and i was embarassed not ashames just embarassed that I actually got the neve to put it on and the guy was just looking at me like I was crazy!
I just stayed with my neck below under water the whole time and when I had to get out I made my sister walk beside me so I was kinda hidden... i felt really bad..

I haven't read many of the previous ones because there are just too many so I'm sorry if this is a repeat...
When I was 16 weeks my breasts started leaking colostrum. It freaked me out at first b/c I had no idea you could leak so early but I also didn't know (until speaking with my nurse midwife) that it was colostrum. Then at work one day when I was 21 weeks, I was bringing a patient back (I was working at a pediatrician's office) I felt something wet on my arm while I was weighing the patient. I took them to the room and then ran to my station to get a nursing pad from my purse. From that day on, I kept nursing pads on 24-7.

WOW you guys are soo funny!.. you have my stomache hurting. I can identify with so much! the baby attempts to kick my cell phone off my stomache, my maternity clothes dont fit! i can't reach to shave my own legs much less paint my toenails!

My fave is my four year old. He was the first to tell me i was prego, the one who insisted its a girl (was right) and now he wants to hug my tummy, and kiss 'the baby' all the time. He will crawl up on the couch and ask if he can lay his head on my belly.. one time he did this and as soon as there was pressure, the baby kicked. he jumped back to ask what happened. I told him the baby kicked him, i was still laughing. he stared at me a second then back at my belly. he told me i shouldnt let the baby wear shoes in there. I love it! i have only 7 weeks 4 days till my due date.. but i am beginning to dialate so dr. thinks it may not take that long. My 4 year old is still way excited..but a little more cautious now that he knows she can kick!

I sneeze-pee all the time... it's so sad.

Every time I sneeze without peeing myself a little, I throw a mini celebration.

I never had trouble with shaving my legs or painting my toenails. In fact, I painted my toenails the night before I went in to get induced.

Heh, I don't think I could paint my toes...I can reach my feet, but barely. lol But I know I have had any issues with accidentally peeing myself yet. I guess I'm lucky. lol

Close to my due date with my first child, my husband and I were visiting at my dads house. While we were there I had to go bathroom, of course I was going every 5 min at that point. I undid the straps to my overalls and.......right into the toliet they landed. I yelled out oh no! My husband and dad both freaked out

I thought this was very funny but they weren't amused.

When you're tired of all the questions like any day now huh, you could always have some fun of your own
