Question about 3-D ultrasound

If I want a 3-D ultrasound, do I just ask my doctor for one? I have no clue about these things, but I really want one.

My doctors office only had 2-d. I'm getting one done this weekend out of pocket. Its like 150.

If you want one done and your doctors office doesn't provide them there are places you can go that provide them for a fee. You don't need a medical reason. Just google them for your area. Thats what I did.

I asked my doctor for the 4d ultrasound, and he said it was fine if I went to the hospital to have it done. The clinic I go to is very closely affiliated with the hospital though. My insurance covered it....plus they had me get 2 more ultrasounds because I had a low lying placenta and gestational diabetes.

there is a clinic in my area that does them and you just pay them. i had mine done when i was 19 weeks and got a dvd a cd with all the images and some prints for 80 bucks
