defects and abortions

So, I have a question that involves your opinion. I am not asking if you disagree or agree with abortions. I am asking if you agree or disagree with a aborting due to a possible "handicap". I was thinking about this because I was told one of my babies may have clubfoot but that it is easily fixed. I decided to research any long term affects from it and came across a shock!!! That people will abort their babies just because of clubfoot. What do you think???

I had a friend who was told by her doctor that he was positive that her baby was going to have down syndrome. Today she is a perfectly healthy 3 year old girl. Imagine if her mother had had an abortion to avoid having a child with down syndrome?

I think that's ridiculous.

I am completly against it. would love my child no matter what problem they had.

No abortion JUST because of a "defect". Everyone's opinion of a defect is different anyways!

If i was told my child was going to have a 'defect' or something I would not love that child any less... so I would not abort it.

For a club foot?!?!!? Heck no! The only way I agree with aborting a pregnancy due to a defect is if there is a 100% chance the baby is going to die, and only at the mother's discretion. Other than that...if the defect is fixable, or can be lived with, what's the point of termintating? People are always just looking for the easy way out!

I don't believe in abortions but i've had friends have them before and I also don't judge but if its August and you are due in Oct that would be murder

that is awful! abby has very slight club foot which now she is walking is getting better (only very slight club foot). i cant believe anyone would even consider abortion as an option for something like that..

I mean i guess it depends on the person, if you think your not going to be able to handle it or maybe sum type of abuse may take place then i say have the abortion or adoption. I was going to abort this baby im preggo with now but i couldnt go thru with it and im glad i didnt. then i was recently looking at pics and it really was nasty how they cut the baby up into pieces and ughh its gross i cant even talk about it!

i don't agree with that at all. if you can't handle the handicap that your child is going to be born with then there is always adoption.

It's her body so it's her choice. I'm not sure what I would do if my child had a defect, I've never been in that situation but I'm not going to tell someone that they can't or shouldn't abort their fetus if it's something they want to do.

So then what would you guys consider a defect that is big enough to abort? Like my babies are conjoined (for those of you who don't already know that) and I get told all the time that I shold have aborted. Not that it would change my mind on my decision to keep them but how many of you honestly think that I should have. (I am not going to get mad I am just curious as to how people relly feel...just don't be too mean lol)
