Sticking things in Ears and problems Sorry kind of long

posted 3rd Aug
I have got a Question I have been having problems with my son having alot of Ear Infections since Sept of last year hes had atleast 10 ear infections I think its more then that but anyways I have taken him to 2 different ENT's and well they said that he has no scaring since I always make sure the minute he tells me his ear hurts hes in the doctor the next day for it to be looked at so he can get rid of it fast. So they said that because of that and he talks Great theres no reason to do anything for him. Which thats great awesome. My sister called me today and asked me a few questions and its got me thinking. One if hes going to keep getting these ear infections and they are going to keep putting him on antibotics are they going to work for other things. (two of the meds they had him on already don't work) Two: He is ALWAYS sticking things in his ears. My sister is a Day Care Teacher and has two boys and she has never seen a child stick things in there ears all day everyday. He does not stick things in his Nose belly button or anything else ONLY his earsThree: He has been walking since September of 07 he can balence on one foot and he can Run but at times he seems very unstable. She said she was told by a parent of one of the daycare kids that them are signs of Inner Ear problems. Expecially the Sticking things in ears and the unstable. Have any of you gone though any of this or do your kids stick things in there ears?

I don't think this relates to your actual question but when I taught Kindergarten this little boy stuck a red crayon in his ear during nap....it was a pretty decent sized crayon. I freaked out! When I called his mom to take him to the doctor she said that 2 weeks ago he stuck most of a tube of lipstick in his year and she had to take him to the ER. How the hell do you put lipstick in your year?!?!  Anyway, the next day he had these little X's of thin tape over his ears so remind him not to put stuff in his ears. Apparently when he was bored or nervous he would stick stuff in them....

Yeah not a bad idea but hes so young he would pull the tape off. What bothers me the most is no one can give me answers to why he does all this. His Dads sister has a problem with her ears that causes hearing loss and its inner ear and she just found out her Daughter has it shes 3 and has lost 85% of her hearing! I hope he don't get it because her doctors said it runs in families. So I don't know I just don't know if its normal for a kid of 2 to be doing.

Yeah and thats what the doctors told me 6 months ago or he was teething. Well hes almost two and its like if he is interested in them wouldnt he stick things in other holes to! I don't know I guess I just find it odd that now other people are bring up to me that its weird that hes sticking things in his ears all the time. Argh I hate how doctors always give you the run around alot! I mean I still think the only reason why they are not running test on his ears is because we are on State insruance because my boys insurance is horribly over priced and we qualify but still they shouldnt take that out on him!
