TMI tongue ring problem

I've had my tongue pierced for over 5 years now with no problems. Well, a few days ago I gave my boyfriend head for the first time in a LONGGGGG time. Now I think my tongue is infected or something. It hurts and is a little hard around the hole. There's no pus or anything coming out. I'm guessing it may have torn a little bit during the act. What should I do? It's been forever since I had it done and I don't want to take it out.

Rinse with listerine morning and night for awhile.. Mine gets irritated from time to time and that helps, it will kill any germs/bacteria (be sure to get antiseptic)

for now, go get a stainless steel barbell. If that's not what's in there.. Mouthwash every three hours and after you eat/smoke, whatev. If it hurts and/or is swollen chew on some ice.. Do it as if you had just gotten it pierced. It should heal within a couple days to a week.

rinse frequently, like after every time you eatwith non-alcohol mouth rinse, would be my only suggestion if it doesn't get better within a few says I'd take it out.

Don't be silly, if it looks and feels infected take it out, It isn't worth having an infection.

I've had mine pierced for about 6yrs now, and i'll take it out for long periods of time and get a whim and put it back in again...although the hole is still there it tends to be a little painful the first few days as it moves around in my mouth...I would say, just take care of it like you did when you first got it done. Rinse w/ half listerine/half water...and I noticed rinsing with warm/hot water w/ Sea Salt, helps speed up the healing process (that's what I did with my lip piercing...worked like a charm)

when that would happen to me but not in that circumstance (SP?)
i would just gargle a mouth full of that Biotine mouth rinse.... do that a few times a day and few days until it feels better. I only use it for that kind of thing cause its like 12 dollars for a big bottle.

That would be my best advice as well. Mine gets irritated from time to time, it goes away within a couple of days though.
