overacting

posted 3rd Aug
So yesterday we went to a family party/carnival anyways the older kid's who are 8,8,5 wanted to go over to the carnival so papa took them over and since the two youngest my son who is 19 months and my little neice who is 3 are to small so they stayed with the rest of the family. well we handed the adult a few bucks because they were going to get stuff for the younger kid's time passed they came back and all the kid's got something besides my son !! We wanted to say something but then again I think we are overeacting and maybe we should let it slide .

I would just say something considering you gave them money It could have just been an accident/ oversight and they didn't mean for it to happen.

I know what you mean... It buggs me when people do stuff like that... If they say something or make a big deal out of giving back a couple of bucks, tell them you didn't contribute YOUR money for THEIR kid... so stupid.. Things like that happen around christmas on DHs side of the family... We go to his Step dad's mom's house and they do the whole gift thing... well Rhilee always gets something... like the rest of the great grand kids... but while they get the expensive toys, she is left with the cheap dollar store gift and it's obvious... she doesn't know the difference now, but I don't want her to be hurt or wonder why she is getting the crap end of the deal... so I just don't take her anymore... it's not fair to favor one or more child/children over another... especially at family gatherins... it's rude

I would say something, it probably wasn't intentional but they should be fair.

My best guess would be that they just figured he was too young to know the difference. Or maybe they didn't know what was safe to give him...

it seems like a slap in the face to use YOUR money for toys for every kid but your own.

EDIT: Which is why I don't think it was intentional.. they probably don't even realize what they did was offensive.. I hope.
