4 weeks pp, still leaking milk.. help!

posted 3rd Aug
I was told I'd stop leaking after 10 days but I'm still leaking!

I've tried everything from ice packs to cabbage to the tightest sports bras imaginable.

Has anyone else had this problem! ARGH

And I'm still bleeding red blood.. .I was told it'd go entirely to brown. Sometimes it's brown and sometimes it's red.

Help?

according to my doctor bleeding a little red is normal for awhile, as long as you dont fill up a pad in an hour, and as long as it doesn't have a foul smell to it your fine. Are you breast feeding? if you are, your body takes a couple of weeks to adjust to the amount of milk your baby will need.

Nope... I'm not breastfeeding.

I don't even fill up a half of a pad in four hours so... I think I'm good.

Anyways... I don't get it cuz I"m not bfing and I haven't ever even tried or wanted to bf. ARGH

It seems that the women that want to bf get the shaft a lot of the time with lactating and then I get the constantly dripping boobs!

I mean if I take my bra off for even five minutes they're dripping! ARGH

Yeah, i hear that happening to a lot of mothers that want to bf they have a hard time doing it. Im breast feeding but im pumping out milk, i tried regular bf but my boobs hurt a lot, so i started pumping out the milk its so much easier. But now my boobs are also hecka leaking. every time the baby starts getting hungry, i start leaking its so annoying. But for you hun since your not bf, I heard that doctors can give you a hormone pill that dries up the milk instantly. and if you drink 2 cups of sage tea in the evenings for about 1 week straight, that will also dry up the milk in a week or 2.

You could leak for the next 5 years - honest every person is different - it takes time, hormones create the milk in the beginning , once those levels even out it should stop.

Bleeding can last upto 12 weeks and be considered normal - after about 6 weeks it should be brownish but until then I wouldn't worry about it.
