what are the things you didn't need for baby ?

posted 3rd Aug
so there is heaps of info on what to get for baby out there , but what are the items you got and found that you never used or used only once or twice or found totally useless ?
for me it was a baby bath , my little one liked the bath seat in the big bath from day 1 and also a wipe warmer

A big bulky pram.... the first one I like because of the features...yeah was coola t the time, but didnt realise how nothing else would fit in the boot of the car with it in there.

baby bath on the stand. Was too damn heavy to lift when it had water in it.

too many nappies before bub was here...he turned out allergic to the brand I had bought and I didnt keep the receipts

15 first tooth first curl boxes

7 baby milestone record books.

all the newborn clothes....I needed things for the next season and didnt have enough...
Note to self ......Never buy friends newborn baby size. always go next size up.

Not so many clothes!! Gosh she got sooooooooooo many outfits it was a shame. I would tell people to get me more socks, onenies, pampers, and wipes, if I could turn back the hands of time.
You're in the house most of the day b/c you can't really go anywhere, its either going to be too cold or too hot.

I was looking at baby baths last night and shaking my head at the increased price of them!

Looks like the kitchen sink will be the playground again...lol....easier to manipulate the baby and baby soap...good thing I bleach mine daily

I don't really use my changing table. I mean I use it b/c it's there, but I didn't have one with Emilee and we did just fine. The baby bath too, most definately. I just bought a baby sling for $5 this time with Megan. Worked much better. Never had a wipe warmer, but the bottle warmer wasn't much help to us, it took entirely too long. I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.

Is the sponge bath the best way to go? I also found one, it was the most expensive one, that had like a little built in removeable shower head, 40 bucks...

Oh yeah

and those silly baby bjorn thingies....could never get bubs in it when I was by myself...Maybe Im just remedial when it comes to coordination and those things but I love my baby sling...

this thing was also useless, its a terry towling ramp kinda thing that you use in the bath...waste of time...

I never felt safe using it but a friend lent me this andit is so much better I LOVE LOVE LOVE it

then I used one of these...

teeny cute little 4 oz bottles... (125mls)
Both my boys were drinking way more than that by 5 weeks so I have all these little damn bottles that are no good for anything.

and a plastic cheap ass potty...the stupid thing os too close to the floor and slips out from under my monkey before he manages to get his ass on it.

i was the same with the change table , it wasn't till she was about 6 months old and i started to use it ( mostly because i felt like i shouldn't waste it )

Baby bath tubs, (though we wish we could find a seat that went in the tub not on the side) Swing, Play Pen, Bouncy seats. know there was more just can't remember... Really didn't need the infant carseat carrier other than for the hospital release, the car seat we got for him when he out grew the 2 we had (fairly early on) would have worked for him from the beginning. the carrier never fit in on it's base properly/securely, and was more trouble than it was worth to take it out, so we'd just take him out any way. Only use we had was in restaurants before he could sit himself up in high chairs, and the odd time we'd go shopping where we wouldn't take the stroller with us, and they didn't have infant seats on the carts. That rarely happened.

Pack n play. Wehad a bassinet and then a crib so Aidan's never even been in it... and we never bought a changing table just because there is no way I am lugging him ALL THE WAY back to his room everytime I wanna change his diaper... I just use this little box with handles that came witha baby outfit...we got itfrom the 1st Class Association at my hubby's command... so it's free and works great as a diaper caddy!! A lot easier to bring that to Aidan than bring Aidan to the diapers...
