Metronizadole a.k.a Metrogel safe during pregnancy?

When I have sex it would burn. I went to my doctor and told her, but she didn't even check me! She asked what kind of discharge I had and diagnosed me from that. I had no discharge...no foul odor, just a burn while having sex down there.

Now it dosen't burn anymore when im having sex.

She prescribed me Metroidazole. It dosen't sound too safe and im VERY scared. It's the vaginal gel. What do you ladies think? =/

your Dr wouldn't have given it to you if it wasnt

she probably treated you for a vag infection. . . that is the drug name for Flagyl and antibiotic . . and since you just insert it then it was probably ok. . . I cant take flagyl im allergic and found out the hard way but it fixed my problem just made me sick.

since it was used as a topical solution and the actual concentrate was small you will be fine. . . it wasn't used systemicly (pill form) then you are safe.

I found it really unprofessional how she didnt even examine me tho!

its easy to tell what is going on down there by the type of discharge or reaction you get. . .I remember doing it in the drs office. .. you learn quite quickly. If you had a foul odor or funny colored discharge or abnormal discharge (ie chunky, frothy, something that reminds you of some sort of food GROSS i know) then she would want to get a sample and look at it. . but since you said you didn't have anything wierd then thats why. Never be afraid to ask why the dr didn't do something . yes they are professional but you have the right to know

I was just sooo nervous cause of all the controversy on Metrogel during pregnancy
