re: Getting your countdown ticker to work in MSN Hotmail

posted 2nd Apr
It took me forever to work it out, but I think I figured out what might be the problem for a lot of others too...
if you are using Hotmail Beta (the new version) it WILL NOT WORK! In the options section there is a chance to opt out of the beta version. Do this first, then when you are back in the original Hotmail you can add a signature and it should allow you to uncheck the rich text format, at least it did for me. Once I knew that it was working I could go back into my mail section and re-sign up for the Beta (which I prefer!)
Hope that helps!

Hello, I have a question about how to get these tickers on your email, I transferred over to Windows Live Mail Beta, and I would very much like to have the tickers set as my personal signature, only problem is I can't get it saved or even to have the http:// thingy copy and pasted to it. Anyone have any clue how to do that or is it just for hotmail. If so, then please let me know, because I will gladly switch back to hotmail. Thank you!

Still trying to get my ticker into my signature in Hotmail. I don't have the beta hotmail version-at least I don't think so. Have followed directions given and all it will do is print out the link words-it will not show the picture-anything else I can do?

Still working on it-cannot find HTML link or "Display Internet Content" anywhere. I clicked on the "Mail" tab, then "Options" tab, like the forum said, but cannot find "Mail Display Settings" anywhere.

I can't get my ticker to work with the new hotmail (Windows Live)...the problem is that I don't know how to get back to the old MSN Hotmail. When I go to the options button on the right side on the "mail" screen all it does is give me the option for the classic view or the full view, but they are both still the new version. Can anyone help me?[/url]

I have my e-mail through Msn Hotmail, however the provider of my internet service is Qwest and they have recently changed it so that rather than going through Hotmail it now goes through Q-Mail in which the setup is different. In the signature option I do not have the rich text format check box and so I cannot try that trick to make it work. Does anyboy else out there have Qwest and have had this problem and hopefully fixed it, I do not know what else to do.

Great tips, But I do not like to use IE, I really like using Firefox. I think firefox is better than IE. I will try your tips in Firefox

I've tried everything-turned off rich text in a new message, tried going into hotmail through Internet Explorer and Messenger, nothing seems to be working. There is no tab when I go into Personal Settings to turn off rich text. I'm stuck and frustrated. Can anyone help?
