Sometimes they can use an eye patch over the unaffected eye, his strong eye, to help him build the muscles of his weaker one and that it will promote him using it more.

no idea, but i have a lazy eye. i also have something called ambliobia or somthing like that im not sure of its exact name, i have no sight out of my left eye (the one thats lazy) and when i was a child i had to wear a patch over my ''good'' eye to try and make the weak one stronger. it was awful i got made fun of at school and the patch itched and hurt. not to mention i couldnt see a damn thing! not trying to scare you or anything but thats what happend to me. but the good news i can see perfectly fine out of my right eye and im so used to not seeing out of the left one that i dosnt even bother me at all.

I'm going through the same thing with my 10 month old. She has a lazy eye too. Sometimes its really bad to the point where she looks really cockeyed, especially when she gets excited. Then sometimes she looks normal. I actually think its really cute lol!! It gives her character! But I also dont want her to get made fun of when shes older, so I'm trying to get it fixed now. My doc told me the same thing that they'll put an eye patch over her good eye to build the muscles and if that doesnt work, then she'll probally need glasses or surgery. The surgery part freaks me out, having my lil girl get eye surgery, awww But he also told me she's better off trying to get it fixed now since she so little she might respond better to it.

My 5 year old has lazy eye...I not even the one who noticed. My sister pointed it out when he was 2. He just wairs special glass with a different perscription in each eye. His one eye sees better than the other so he uses the good one more. The only thing is he's has the glasses for 2 years and not even a little improvement so he's going back. I think a patch would be better for him. Good luck with your little one!!
