depo shot and the RhGam shot

posted 1st Aug
I have been wondering about this since i had my MC in May. I was on the Deprovera (BC) shot for4 years. when i decided to get off the shot i was wanting to have another child. I was doing the "if it happens it happens" thing i guess you can say. another reason why i got off the shot is cuz i was told about losing bone density while being on it. Well it took 13 months before i got my period and it startedregular when before i had my first child it was irregular. FYI i didnt have my period the whole time i was on the depo---lucky me

Well when i was pregnant with my first one i found out that i had to get the RhGam shot everytime i got pregnant. Most of the ppl that know about the RhGam shot you need it during pregnancy, postpartum, and after miscarriage (if you ever to have one). So when i had the misscarriage i got the shot but i started to think.....???? When i got off the depo shot this last time (b4 i had the MC) was i supposed to have the RhGam shot??? I still havent been able to get an answer for that question and it is still making me curious on if that is the reason why i might have miscarried. Can any of you answer that or possibly get an answer for me

No, you get the Rhogam shot during pregnancy.... Most miscarriages are due to chromosomal abnormalities..

thats what i have been told but it just doesnt seem right cause that was my first misscarriage and just wondering actually why it happend cause i went in 4 weeks after having the miscarriage and found out that i was pregnant again. the conception date they are using is sorta funny cause the calculation doesnt seem right but US says differently my MC date is May 3rd and my due date is February 6th which makes my conception date pretty much the same day as i had my MC... or does that sound right?

Are you sure you had a complete miscarriage? Some people have symptoms and are told that's what they are experiencing, but don't actually lose the baby.. How far along were you when you might have MCed?

actually come to think of it i dont think i fully MCed but when i had my first appointment she was listening for the heartbeat and heard it moved the thingy a little bit and had this "wait a minute" look on her face. we heard one heart beat. she set an US up and we saw one baby and the uterus measured to be 11w 6d and that was on July 24 so i dont know

It's really hard to say.. If you weren't that far along, it's possible that you never fully MCed and it's the same baby. Ultrasounds are pretty accurate in early pregnancy as far as determining a due date.. They changed my due date by 10 days (which means I would've had to ovulate like a week later than normal), but anything is possible.

my first due date was 12/25 but i never had insurance to actually get checked by the doc (my husband likes putting things off)and i went to the ER and they told me that my levels were dropping and that is when they swobbed me out and told me that it was a pregnancy that i could definately not keep and so i guess i got pregnant right away cause when i finally got insurance i went to the doc and that is when they told me that my due date was 2/10 and then i had the US and was changed to 2/6 so was it possible to be pregnant with 2 babies and loose one (not twins). thats is another thing i was thinking it could have been

Yes, the twins thing could happen. I know a woman who was expecting triplets and lost 2 of them.. But if your due date went from 12/25 to 2/6 I bet you just ovulated right away.. our bodies can be pretty screwy sometimes!
