So my little one is 2 weeks old and i have only been breastfeeding well I think I have given her a bottle of breastmilk twice. But I was having some problems with her latching but everything cleared up but I just noticed yesterday that my nipples have been really sore and when i get cold they hurt cause they are errect. And at night I think its the worst cause she wants to eat every 2hrs and so in the morning I'm really sore. I just tried pumping so I can feed her but I only pumped almost 2ounces. Now I was wondering if this is normal or and advice??

Are you sure that you are getting her latched on correctly? You might want to see if there is a lactation consultant in your area or bf group that you can go to. They can make sure that she's latching on correctly. I know my nipples hurt when I first started bf'ing, but not 2 weeks later. You can apply lansinoh nipple cream to them, that always helped me.

Sounds like it could be one of two things. Sore nipples could be from a bad latch, so I would check that first. OR if your nipples are pink in color and burn or are painful- you might have yeast/thrush. A good way to check if its thrush is to check your baby's tongue- if its white then thats probably your problem. If thats the case you can get drops for the baby from the doctor and cream for your nipples at the store. If its the latch I would call a BF resource group and see if they have someone you can talk to and get help (sometimes the hospitals or women's health center in your area will have this for free). Good luck! Take care and feel better soon!
