your actual period can take some time to come back, especially if you breastfeed. but you do bleed, a lot, for a while (depends on your body as to how long) after you have a baby. i did for about 3.5 weeks. labor dust!!

You'll usually bleed (sometimes for as long as 4-6 weeks) and then you'll get a period after that (which can come anywhere from a few days to months later).

not necissarily. it depends on your body. and if you breastfeed theres a chance you wont get it back for months...if your lucky, not the case for me damnitt. lol but you bleed after you have the baby, then theres usually a day up to weeks/months before you have a period.

I bleed for 3 weeks after I had the baby. I then spotted a few days and then stopped. I started my first PP period this past Sunday, just a couple days shy of 9 weeks PP. I was not breastfeeding. That could delay the first PP period if you breast feed. Good luck and labor dust to you!

blood flow does start immediately. For some it's heavier than others. It won't be like a normal period. For some (if you are breast feeding) an actual period might not come for quite awhile. For ladies who don't BF it might show up around 8-9 weeks PP. Just know that the bleeding after you give birth could last for a little while. Some have it for 2-3 weeks PP. For me, it was 2 weeks and I have yet to have a real period.

They'll give you some monster pads at the hospital.

Usually if you breastfeed, you won't get your period for a long time.

Use their monster pads. I didn't think I would want to but boy I did. Bring some back up if you'd like. Do NOT bring tampons. That would be bad idea for you.

Hahaha. Well, they ARE big. You're going to be sore andbleeding quite a bit so you will want to use these pads. They are just really large (wide and long) but they aren't super thick or anything, just thin and large. Since you won't be up for having leakage problems or moving a ton for that matter you'll want them. I had a c-section so I wasn't sure I'd bleed as much. I was wrong!
