Getting paragard tomarrow

Well Im having my paragard placed tomarrow and Im sooo nervous for some reason! Can anyone tell me what to expect/ your experience w/ it. My dr told me to take 800mg ibprophen before, does it hurt really bad? ( Ive had enough vaginal trama over th last 2yrs to last me a lifetime so Im pretty scared!) My dr said you usually bleed for about 4-5 wks after ( intermitently) what was the bleeding like for you? Im excited to get it and not have to use condoms and not worry about having another baby but Im nervous about the placement process AND the effects after! 

Is it an IUD?
I have Mirenia and it didn't hurt being put in all! It was just like a Pap Smear, nothing too uncomfortable!

i just got paragard on tuesday!! so far i like it.. it didnt hurt at all getting it inserted..

oh and i have not bled yet with it in.. and my doctor didnt tell me to take anything before hand.

Thanks! My dr told me that she had it and it made her bleed for quite a while and it gave her cramps that sometimes took her breath away so that kinda scared me. lol!! Im nervous about the pain but Im more so worried/dreading the bleeding.

lol yeah.. i cramped a little the first day but it wasnt that bad and the doctor said it was normal.. she said that my first period on it that the cramping would be pretty bad but everyones body is different so you may or may not get any bleeding or cramps..

i had it put in 2wks ago..mine hurt more so than normal cause my uterus is tipped to the back and to the side..but it still didn't hurt anymore than period cramps..i had it put in while i was on my 1st pp period and it was really heavy..the doc said i would cramp and my bleeding would be heavier..but she was wrong..no cramping and my bleeding actually lightened up the next day..and i stopped completely a few days later..you will be fine..it doesn't compare to havin' a baby so if you did that, you can handle an iud insertion.

oh then u will be fine i have had 2 almost 3 natural..and it is NOTHING compared to that..if you can handle natural childbirth, you can handle anything..my perception of pain is so different now that i have had kids.
