Different OB/Gyn's

I am starting to wonder why pregnant woman all say different things about what their doctors tell them to do while pregnant. After reading different topics it seems like they have different responses. I would think that all doctors had the same kind of schooling and would give the same patient advice. Hmmmm!!!!

Just because they all learned basically the same stuff doesn't mean that they won't have different opinions on what's right...They aren't the same person.

Doctors, to me, are scientists of the human body. They all have different opinions on what will affect it... Kind of like how a lot of scientist disagree on lots of things. Thats what I think anyways.

They may have all learned the same thing in school but they all have different life experiences. They see different older doctors do different things than what they learned in school and see that they work. I worked in the Operating room as a Surgical tech(used to be called a scrub nurse)and let me tell you from experience that no two doctors do things the exact same way.

It just makes me wonder sometimes what is right and what is wrong.

Sometimes both choices are right and one choice works best for a prticular person.

I agree with all the posts. Everyone has their own personal opinion about things and doctors aren't excluded from that. There are 5 different OBGYN's at the place where I go, you have to be rotated through all of them during your pregnancy. (They say it gives each doc a chance to see you because you don't know who will be on call when you go into labor). One of the doctors always gives me herbal remedies to complications and another starts writing scripts for things like Darvocet for headaches. One extreme to the next.
