Quitting Smoking Cigarettes.

I have had a pact with Brandon, that when Lily starts walking, we will quit smoking. This time is FAST approaching!

It's much easier to quit with other quitters supporting you...
So, I thought it would be a good idea to have a support thread. This way we can motivate each other, share tips, and confess slip-ups. I hope that other moms that want to quit will join me...



So, lets pull an AA and start like this:

Hi, my name is Heather.
I started smoking when I was 15.
My reason for quitting is this... I don't want my daughter to grow up with smoker parents. Smoking is bad for you, I know that, I want my daughter to know that too. I hope that my quitting will lower her chances of becoming a smoker.

My reason for quitting is... I want to be healthier, for myself and my family. I hated growing up and going to school with kids asking me why I smelt like smoke. Everyone always thought I was smoking. =/

Hello, I'm Janae... I started smoking on and off when I was 9 *yeah i know* I have recently quit when I found out I was pregnant, relapsed, and have quit again. hopefully I can stay cigerette free, for my daughter's sake.

I know for myself that cold turkey is NOT the way, so I decided that Lily's walking day will be my last smoking day.

I started smoking daily at the age of 13.
I finally quit at 19 when I was pregnant with my son and like a dummy I started again when I stopped breastfeeding. I quit about 2 months into this pregnancy and hopefully I don't make the same mistake again. So far I haven't had a cigarette in almost 4 months which I am very proud of because my husband is still a pack a day smoker. Good luck to everyone who is trying to quit. It gets easier.

im quitting cause i pregnant and i dont want my daughter around smokers

Alex and I were just talking about quiting this morning. I really want to. I mean we both quit cold turkey the day that I found out that I was pregnant. Took a few months after he was born to light back up. Wish that I wouldn't have. As soon as I drank a beer I had to have a cig!

I started when I was 15.
I hate the smell and feel like crap in the morning.
My throat hurts a lot.
I want to quit to be more healthy and to be around as long as I can be for my son.

I have only smoked for 1 1/2 years before becoming pregnant. I have stopped completly and not picked one up, but I am getting scared to know if I can keep it up after birth. Right now I am fine. I know she is in there, but after, I am not sure I can.

My quit day is soon, but not today... I'm smoking right now (outside, on a lap top  ) So, it will help me to hear non-judgemental advice!
I WILL post my quit day soon.

I started smoking when I was 16 and I stopped off and on over the years. I finally quit smoking when I started TTC and have only had 2 cigs in the last year. I know how hard it is so I just wanted to tell everyone good luck!

btw, my mother started smoking when she was 14 and tried to quit for YEARS and never could. She got into her doctor after her 54th Birthday and got on Chantix and FINALLY was able to quit. She's been smoke free since March 07. So you might check with a doctor about it if you are able to.

hi my name is Ashley ..i started somoking when i was 15 and i started taking chantix 2 months ago and i haven't had a cigerette in about 2 week ...i wanted to quit so my son can have a smoke free home
