when did this happen?

Yesterday my MIL was watching my 10 year old and 5 year old while I had the other kids at the pedi's office. It was still early, our appt was at 8 am, so my MIL and my 5 year old were sleeping. My 10 year old decides she's hungry and instead of eating a bowl of cereal, she cooks eggs on the stove! We were so pissed because she has already started a small fire doing stupid shit like that. Last time she got a talking to, this time I decided to spank her. Yes we spank if there is a need to, she proved that there was a need to, don't judge me.So here I am at 5'2" and 27 years old reaching for my stepchild. I swatted her and turned her to face me so that I could talk to her. That's when I realized, holy shit, if she wanted to kick my ass she probably could! She is maybe 2-3 inches shorter than me. When the hell did she get that tall, how is she that big? She's 10, I'm 27 I should be the tallest girl in the house! So I guess I am going to have to get a really good bluff in because when I have to look up to punish her, it's not going to be easy!

Lol Im short, 5'0 and my daughter has a good chance of being tall (lol or taller than me!) My boyfriend always tells me shes going to beat me up when shes older!

lol i realized this in high school our high school and elementry school are in the same building (diff sides but paths cross at lunch) and ya see them walking down the hall and they are all just about as tall as me! kids i guess are getting taller lol i was a senior and shorter then a couple kids in 4th grade

Its crazy ... my 12 year old is an inch shorter than me .... she fits my shoes clothes ... and she could probably hold her own if we threw down .... but she is a sensitive girl ... and isnt disrespectful ... im hoping while shes yet to enter the depths of adolescence there is still hope to program her to be a non rebel lol .... im not counting on it tho ... she will be who she is but i hope my skills at teaching her stuff isnt totally lost when the hormones kick in .... I know if i tried to spank her she'd give me a run for my money tho lol

I spank when needed too, but avoid it if I can. Ten might be a little too old to be spanking anyways. Find something she loves to do and take that privilege away and stick with it. My stepson is taller than me and I'm 5'7''! They grow so fast you don't see it happening!

I use spanking as a last resort also. But when you take everything away, ground them to their room and take away privelages there is nothing left but to spank. We don't use it often, just when everything else fails or when it's a really big deal. She has the mouth of a 16 year old.Sometimes I get the urge to smack her mouth, but I don't believe that you should hit a child in the face, that's why the butt is so padded.
