posted 24th Sep
Hi, I am new here. I am 25 years old and pregnant with my 2nd. I starting spotting a little pink in my discharge and some say it is normal and other say it is not a good sign. I am about 12 and 1/2 weeks pregnant and quite scared. Anyone have any advice?

Hi Lori, I will say this is my 3rd baby and when I was right around 13 weeks I was feeling a bit crampy but nothing major....I brushed it off as stretching etc.....that same day hubby and I went to the mall and I realized I was bleeding, we went immediatley to our Dr who did an ultrasound and determined NOTHING was wrong, adn sometimes it just happens. THANK GOD!!! We were so scared! Anyway, he said it could be from having sex and bumping the cervix, BUT If you ahve not brought it to your Dr's Attention you should becasue you cna never be too sure, He /she will probably do the exam or ultra sound and that way they can let you know if you have anything to worry about or not. GOOD LUCK!

Hi, I had bleeding around 12 weeks too. I've had 2 scans since and everything seems to be fine, the doctors couldn't explain why it happened but it was quite a heavy bleed over a day then spotting for 2 days then it stopped.
Im 18 weeks and 5 days now and heard the heartbeat last week so baby is fine but I know it worries you so much and you assume the worse but it may be nothing like mine.
Take care

I had some bleeding in my 7th week and of course got worried right away. The Dr. said that its a very common thing with some women. One thing she did say was a common cause was actually having sex, it doesnt hurt the baby but sometimes it will aggravate the cervix, especially earlier in pregnancy and cause light spotting. She told me that unless it is a gush of blood or fluid, or if it is spotting along with heavy cramping, that generally it is nothing to be worried about. But I would still call your Dr. to be sure. Hope this helps calm any fears you may be having

I hope that your spotting has stopped and that you are off to a wonderful pregnancy. I started bleeding at 5weeks and it would not stop. I passed a very large bloodclot and I just knew it was my baby. Alarms were false though as I have a precious baby girl growing inside and I am now 21 weeks and 2 days. I hope that my short story gives you and anyone else that reads this a glimmer of hope.
I will not tell you not to worry as no amount of me saying that to you will ease your fears cause God knows I still worry and jump at the first weird pain, or trickle of any sort. But my Hannah is a fighter and I know she will pull through to the end if this pregnancy.
God Bless you all!
