Gestational Diabetes?

posted 28th Jul
I've always had pretty low glucose levels. I've never seen my level over 100.
I took the one hour test about 7 weeks ago, and everything came back okay.
Per my doctor's recommendation, I bought a glucose monitor, to see if a drop or spike in my levels might be what causes my migraines.
I'm just not too sure on what the "Normal" glucose levels are.
I took it this morning, and got a reading of 172. I hadn't had anything to drink or eat since about 8PM last night, and that was a turkey and cheese sandwich on wheat bread with Mayo. And a bottle of water.

I took it again just now, and my level was 235!! I read that 235 is NEVER within the normal range... Whether I've been fasting OR just had a gallon of sugar water...
But anyway, I ate two pieces of wheat toast with margarine almost 3 hours ago, and have been drinking water.
Would this warrant a trip to the ER? Or just something to call my OB about in the morning? I don't have a headache or anything, and my lil man is still very active. Thanks for any help ladies.

Carbs an cause a spike. I'd check it again in an hour to see if it's going down. Call your OB in the morning, it's not going to hurt either of you unless it's really high-like 300+

Your fasting levels in the morning should be below 90 and while pregnant (so they told me) 2 hours after eating it should be 120 or less

I wouldn't wait until it gets to 300 to tell someone about it.... 200's are high and should be addressed immediately. Even 170 is high so tell your Doc.
