What do all of you think about this?

I know its a tacky Maury show, but in reality that childs health is in danger in my opinion

Would you let your child eat everything and anything they want?

I never understood those shows.. I think it is putting the child at risk. There is a certain time when the parent need to let the child know who the adult is.

that woman has got to be projecting her own issues with food and weight...this kind of thing is so sad. and isnt it considered a form of child abuse in some states?

I agree I think it is so sad, you are putting that child at major health risk, and teaching them bad eating habits for the rest of their lives... and its not fair but these children will most likely get mad fun of in school because of a choice their parents made for them when they were too young to know waht was good or bad for them.

Hell no!! I wouldnt want some fatass kid rolling behind me when im in the grocery store...

Oh im sorry that was mean!   But being real no 3yr old should be weighing as much as someone in elem or middle school. I doubt that genetics even allow that. And of course i dont want anyone calling me a bad mother for overfeeding my child.

That's so terrible and I think the parents should be fined or something because to me that is child endangerment. I never understood why parents let their child do anything they feel. In this case, the child can only eat what you give them....they don't have their own money because they are not working. I had a coworker who's four year old weighed a little over sixty pounds. Poor thing could hardly walk and breathe at the same time. So I actually asked her why was she doing that to her daughter. Her reason...well she could cry if she did not buy her the food she wants. That just pissed me off. Who cares if she cries. Which would you want? A healthy, crying child who is here. Or a child in the hospital because of diabetes, had a heart attack, had a stroke, or worse passed away.

if parents have a bad relationship with food, so will the child, thats how i see it, so when i see these shows, thats what i think, the parents in some point in their lives used food as a vice or a cure all for everything, and they feel as if they deny their child they are hurting them in some way. or better yet some people are just ignorant.

Wow yeah thats something. I have a 4 year old thats only 36lbs. I couldnt imagin a child that big.   Just wow yeah someone needs to limit that childs food intake!! Hell my WIC office said that my daughter was a little on the big side at 29lbs at almost 3.

"when she hungry, guess what, I feed her!" Umm yea, I feed my kids too. They never go hungry. They just get their treats in between lots of nutritious snacks. Who said a bowl of grapes isn't good! MMMM, sweet grapes...lol (my kids n I love grapes! (other fruit too, but grapes was my example))

Exactly. They was an in between snack then give them an apple, grapes, orange something. It does not have to be a huge back of chocolate chip cookies or a pint of ice cream all of the time.

That is harsh!

Its not always parents either it is genetics. I have struggled with my weight my whole life. No matter how healthy I eat, work out and etc I have always had a hard time. While I agree that most of the moms on those shows are just over feeding its still sad. I HATE when people tell me Kaden is soo big. Makes me feel like a horrible parent. I think some parents just don't know any better. They were fed that way and think its okay to feed that way. Its really an ongoing battle from generation to generation usually.

My son will be 3 on the 14th. He eats constantly and is allowed to eat whenever he wants, but I limit what he is allowed to have and he only weighs 28 lbs. I agree, that allowing your child to eat as this woman has allowed hers should be considered child abuse. I posted a while back about my cousin, who is 12 and weighs 210 lbs. It breaks my heart to see him, and my aunt thinks it's funny. I fear for him, not only in his social life, but for his health and well being as he gets older. I don't understand how parents who allow their children to get to a point such as this can live with themselves and not see it as a problem.
